Something I think very carefully about when putting together these wedding blog posts is the music.
This song (To Build A Home by the Cinematic Orchestra) is one of the most special songs to me in all the world. And it reflects Steve and Claire to a T.
"There is a house built out of stone
Wooden floors, walls and window sills
Tables and chairs worn by all of the dust
This is a place where I don't feel alone
This is a place where i feel at home
I built a home
For you,
For me"
As I was being driven to the train station by Steve's mum after the wedding, we were talking about love and failed relationships, and she said to me;
"You know, Steve thought he would never find The One - he'd been looking so hard for so long, and I remember after the last wedding we went to, he got so down. He thought it would never happen to him. A few weeks later Claire came along - isn't it funny how life works like that?"

The atmosphere was buzzing before the ceremony...
Claire looked gorgeous. Phenomenal. You couldn't have wiped the smile off her face if you tried! Her dad was absolutely glowing with pride. Steve looked like he was about to fall over.
Things started to get a little teary, my lens started to mist up...
Of course, bridesmaids are always around to lighten the mood! ;)
The speeches begun - and so did the waterworks! :) The amount of love contained within these families is unbelievable. So much love it was leaking everywhere!! :)
An unexpected twist to the best man's speech!
Cutting - wait, killing the cake :P ...
"This is a place that I call my home."
very nice work. They seem so happy. its great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful works!~
ReplyDeleteA question about photography during the party, after the ceromony. Like, during the time when they sit down, eat and have speaches.. do you get a seat as well or do you walk around and photograph? or is it different depending on how the couple feel, if it's disturbing or not?
ReplyDeleteHey Rania!
ReplyDeleteUsually I use the time people are eating to refuel myself and recharge my camera batteries a little more. Something I've found is that guests automatically become EXTREMELY uncomfortable when there is someone with a big lens photographing them eat. If there is other entertainment during the meal e.g magician, then i will photograph them etc, but otherwise eating + photos isn't something i go for! :P
wau, especially the last frame; goooooorgeous! the light coming from the back, all the guests there but yet those two are the only ones in there :)
ReplyDeleteAw, I want to hug the bride's father!! The photo where his eyes are filled with tears is just so wonderfully emotional!
ReplyDeletedarn..your photos always bring me tears, rosie..
ReplyDeleteT_T
i think you are the perfect queen of moment photographer!
How beautiful! You've really captured something here. And the song, you're right, perfect fit :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that last photograph just cinched it. You are amazing. The affection, the smiles, the composition, the lighting, it's absolutely perfect. I could imagine that printed large and hanging in someone's living room.
ReplyDeleteI was curious what equipment you used for these?
What a fairytale!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie,I'm Diane, Steves' sister. What can I say other than WOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a really great job, I'd never seen my brother in love before and I hadn't met Claire until the day before the wedding but to be honest, I didn't need to be there to see how much they love each other,(which as his only sister, she genuinely did need my approval, lol) you've really captured how they feel about each other....Thankyou.
P.S she's more than has my approval lol
Good luck for the future,im sure you'll go really far.
Amazing job, lady!
